What is net worth?
Net worth, or altitude, is “the total assets minus total liabilities of an individual or a company.” For instance, a real estate agent with $100,000 in savings, but credit card debts of $80,000 has a net worth of $20,000. A janitor with $40,000 in savings and 0 debts has an altitude of $40,000.
Your assets don’t mean anything if your debts outweigh them. So, let’s see what your numbers actually are.
