6 SIGNS YOU'RE BELIEVING MONEY LIES
I recently did a Financial Sozo with a wonderful couple. The Holy Spirit put His finger on a lie the husband believed, and when the husband saw the lie, he completely broke down.
It was powerful to watch this man, with humility and ferocity, hear from God and recognize the truth. As he surrendered this lie, I watched God remove it, roots and all, and replace it with something permanent and truly good.
Watching this interaction reminded me: whenever our belief systems are stunted, our skills don’t matter. Our skills always slip down to the level of what we believe.
Here are 6 ways you can tell if you need to change your thinking where money is concerned:
1. You tend to get angry or upset when your spouse wants to talk about money.
2. You feel afraid when you think about money.
3. You feel ashamed, maybe even condemned, because of the state of your finances or the amount of debt you owe.
4. You have poor expectations about the future. “It will always be this way. I’ll always be broke.”
5. You expect to lose what you’ve worked so hard to gain.
6. It seems like other people succeed, but no matter what you do, you just can’t succeed.
Don’t feel ashamed if you recognize yourself in any of these statements. When you apply Jesus’s truth, these lies will be broken from your life.
If you’re struggling financially, simply realize your beliefs might need an update. I was a CPA for years. I knew so much about money, and yet I couldn’t grow my personal wealth. I kept struggling, no matter how hard I tried. Eventually I realized, “My belief system about money is stunted! It needs to change.”
That realization is what started my healing journey. With the Holy Spirit’s help, I threw away the lies I believed and replaced them with God’s truth.
You can do the same. Your current circumstances are not your stopping point; they are opportunities to grow. If you need help updating your belief systems, consider checking out my inner healing ministry, Financial Sozo.
