Greetings Prosperous Souls,
This afternoon we’ll discuss chapter 4 of my book, Money and the Prosperous Soul. Our subject is trust and faith. We’ll answer: what’s the difference between the two?
Turns out there’s quite a bit. One has greater impact on our decision-making than the other. I’ll illustrate this with a story.
The world’s bravest acrobat
Years ago, an acrobat strung a tightrope over Niagra falls. His goal was to earn money by pushing a wheelbarrow across.
To everyone’s amazement, the acrobat easily moved, back and forth. He even filled his wheelbarrow with rocks at point.
Upon his final return, a heckler called out, “That’s not impressive!”
The acrobat responded, “Oh really? Why don’t you climb in the wheelbarrow and I’ll push you across?”
“There’s no way I’m doing that!”
“Why not? Don’t you believe I can do it?”
“Of course I believe you, but I don’t trust you.”
Trust vs. Faith
You see, trust is the ultimate source of our decision-making. We can believe something all day long, but until we trust in its ability to protect us, we won’t go through with it. In other words…
… Trust is what gets us in the wheelbarrow.
Now, this isn’t to say faith is any less important. Scripture says, “without faith it is impossible to please God.” But I find that most Believers have faith that God will move mountains, yet struggle with trusting He’ll actually do it.
So today, ask yourself: what do I believe in, and what do I trust in? Do these concepts align? Or do they conflict? Perhaps you have faith in God’s provision for your daily bread, but you don’t trust that He’ll provide for you in real-life situations.
We’ll unpack this conflict in today’s meeting and discuss how to embrace faith and trust. Bring in any questions, and let’s get you on the path to Financial Healing!
