Greetings Prosperous Souls,
Let’s dive into chapter 3: “Doctrine.”
Scripture teaches us that God rewards those who seek Him. His blessings, however, come with the responsibility of stewardship.
King Solomon emphasized that blessings were a crown for the wise. He also claimed that humility and fear of the Lord brought riches, honor, and life.
Proverbs repeatedly underscores these truths:
“It is the blessing of the Lord that makes rich, And He adds no sorrow to it.” - Proverbs 10:22
“Riches and honor are with me, Enduring wealth and righteousness.” - Proverbs 8:18
“The crown of the wise is their riches, But the folly of fools is foolishness.” - Proverbs 14:24
“The reward of humility and the fear of the Lord Are riches, honor and life.” - Proverbs 22:4
The New Testament echoes this sentiment, affirming that faith in God leads to His rewards (Hebrews 11:6).
It’s clear that God takes pleasure in using money to bless His children. However, we must be cautious not to chase after it obsessively.
Money should be seen as a tool for stewardship rather than a goal in itself.
The heart of stewardship
When Solomon asked God for wisdom rather than wealth or long life, he was granted unparalleled riches and honor (2 Chronicles 1:11-12).
Physical wealth and promotion is great, but true peace comes when we embrace sound biblical truth, and realize God is our provider and protector.
This week, let’s ask God to bless our stewardship, and make sure we are building His kingdom first. We can be confident that in serving His dreams, He will fulfill our own.
