Greetings Prosperous Souls,
I recently received a board game for Christmas. It’s incredibly fun.
My wife and I break it out whenever our baby goes to sleep.
The best part? There are endless expansions.
You can add extra pieces to the game and make it more interesting.
Only problem is? Each of these expansions cost $80. 😱
If you buy each one, you’re easily out $300.
Yikes.
I’m the kind of person who wants everything now.
The temptation is to go out and buy it all today. But that would put a strain on our finances.
In this season, I’m learning the skill of delaying gratification—a discipline that empowers people to wait for something they deeply desire.
Of course, we can still enjoy our treats, but waiting days, weeks, or even years develops maturity.
Righteous stewards understand this. They recognize the value of stability and prioritize it over instant pleasure.
This week, challenge yourself to delay a purchase. Ask yourself…
… How long can I wait? A day, a week, a month, or even a year?
I promise, if you develop this skill, your finances will improve.
