Hello Financial Healers,
2022 has wrapped, and the New Year is here! As I build out my marketing calendar, I wonder, “What’s the best way to start 2023?”
My son, Cory, suggested starting from the basics, and I agreed, so this month’s theme is Financial Healing. It’s the overall topic of this newsletter (and the title as well), so it fits. Though most articles last year felt shoot-from-the-hip, this year I hope to bring clarity and focus.
In the spirit of staying focused, the topic for this month is Healing Financial Disease. This is an umbrella term I use to cover a myriad of issues: debt, overspending, anxiety, or stress (there’s many more). Financial Disease is a harsh term, but I use it to convey the seriousness of the issue. If we can’t diagnose our financial problems, we can’t heal.
So let’s figure out the obstacles holding us back. I’ll use tools from my Financial Sozo Ministry to help us break free from destructive cycles and replace them with good habits.
Paid subscribers will meet with me today at 3:30 PM CA time to discuss this week’s teaching (sent out yesterday). We’ll go over my free handout, A Curious List of Lies, and share tips on how to break free from destructive mindsets.
If you’re a free viewer and want to join us, please consider becoming a paid subscriber. The price is just $5 a month. (It’ll go back to $7 soon!) If you can’t make our talk, you can always watch my recorded teaching (sent out Mondays around 12 PM).
Regardless of whether you join or not, use this Curious List of Lies to identify unhealthy mindsets you believe and reject their influence. These are lies I’ve compiled over the course of my career, so there’s plenty to go through. Maybe you believe some unhealthy ideas that aren’t on this list?
As always, thanks for reading. Life is busy and emails are cluttered. Here’s to 2023 being a year filled with clarity and breakthrough!
Blessings,
Stephen K. De Silva
Coming Thursday for Paid Subscribers
I’m considering posting a thread I created on Twitter in November. It breaks down the basic structure of identifying and removing money lies. This might change, but for now, it feels good. If you have any questions or comments, or topics you’d like covered, please leave a note. I’m happy to hear your thoughts.
