Greetings Prosperous Soul,
My wife and I were talking about some struggles we’d been experiencing.
It was good to process. But after a while, we realized: a lot of what we were feeling was anger at not being where we wanted to be.
This frustration led both of us to go before the Lord and ask Him how to heal our anger.
Do you know what He showed us? That we were exhausted and burned out.
We had all these high hopes that weren’t getting fulfilled, and to deal with the disappointment, we had “turned off” our ability to dream.
Was this a healthy way to deal with the heartbreak? Of course not.
After praying, we asked God how to restore our hope.
Do you know what He commanded us? “Keep my Sabbath.”
Healing Your Wounded Heart
In my Prosperous Soul Advanced class, I teach that Sabbath (God’s rest) is one of the best ways to heal your exhausted heart.
When I was a stressed-out dad in the 2000s, serving as the CFO of Bethel Church and running my own business, the Lord gave me this same command.
It ended up saving my life and breathing new hope into my future. It gave me the ability to imagine what my career could look like.
“What if I wrote a book?” I started asking. “What if I started a ministry that dealt with the root of financial issues?”
All those questions began because I started taking one day off each week to rest.
The healing power of the Holy Spirit came in and gave me new hope.
It rewrote my entire life.
