Recently a woman came to me for help because she had a difficult decision to make. There were two really important things she felt God had given her to do.
But they were big things. “I know I can’t do both of these things. They’re too big, so I don’t know which way to go. I don’t know what to do.”
It might surprise you, but “What should I do?” isn’t the most important question.
It feels important in the moment, which is why we tend to get so wrapped up in it, but urgency does not dictate importance.
Instead of putting all our attention on the “What should I do?” question, the more important questions are these:
“Who am I?” (This is a question of identity.)
“Why am I?” (This is a question of purpose.)
“What is my vision?” (Or “What do I see happening in my life?”)
