Greetings Prosperous Souls,
Today we’ll talk through chapter 7 of my book, which covers the topic of Mammon. Many understand mammon to denote greed, but the actual translation comes from the Greek word μαμμωνᾶς, which means:
To personify wealth. To deify riches as a god.
Characteristics of mammon
Mammon is a mastering spirit. Its common interpretations are avarice and lust, but secrecy, addiction, and envy are also involved.
For a full list of mammon’s traits, here’s a post I wrote a while ago.
If you discern mammon’s presence in your life, don’t hesitate to reject its influence. Use these steps to renounce its hold: 1) Identify, 2) Renounce, and 3) Exchange. Here’s an example of how to do this:
Identify: Say, “I see you Mammon (i.e., greed, addiction, jealousy, envy).”
Renounce: “I do not partner with you, and I send you back in Jesus’ Name.”
Exchange: “Jesus, what do You want to give me in exchange?”
