Greetings Prosperous Souls,
Transition has a way of shaking up our sense of comfort. As Bishop Joseph Garlington once said, “God closes one door and opens another, and it’s hell in the hallway.”
But here’s the thing: as Prosperous Souls, we can navigate these changes from a place of peace.
So, how do we do it?
Well, it starts with getting close to God—really close—and holding onto His words like they’re fresh oxygen.
Just look at some of our heroes: Abraham, Joseph, Nehemiah, and Jesus. They clung to God’s promises even in the face of adversity… and succeeded.
In my own life, I truly learned the power of holding onto God’s voice when my mother was approaching the end of her life.
This was during the time of COVID, when care centers were extremely locked down.
With my two sons living far away and Dawna busy with work, it was just me and God navigating this painful season.
Was it tough? Absolutely. Were there days when I felt completely overwhelmed? You bet. But through prayer and perseverance, I was able to find the strength needed to endure and give my mother a beautiful farewell.
This week’s assignment
If you’re in the midst of a challenging transition, I encourage you to lean into the Holy Spirit’s voice. Trust in His wisdom to guide you—no matter how overwhelmed you feel. I promise, the more you press in, the stronger your peace will become.
