OUR DREAMS ARE BIGGER THAN OUR CIRCUMSTANCES
Sometimes life feels overwhelming. But as a Prosperous Soul, we have the opportunity to be pulled through our circumstances no matter what.
Forward motion happens in 2 ways:
1. Fear: “My circumstances are bad and scary, and I need to act now or lose everything! My circumstances are pushing me forward.”
2. Faith: “My circumstances do not have the power to stop me. Something greater than my circumstances is pulling me forward.”
If allowed, our surroundings will try to push us into decisions. Hastiness often leads to disappointment. When stress or fear calls the shots, forward motion is rushed and unstable. Obstacles become brick walls that crumple our momentum.
But a pull system is different.
When something—or Someone—greater than ourselves is pulling us along, there is no obstacle that can stop us. That’s what the apostle Paul was talking about in Acts 20:22–24:
And see, now I go bound in the spirit to Jerusalem, not knowing the things that will happen to me there, except that the Holy Spirit testifies in every city, saying that chains and tribulations await me. But none of these things move me; nor do I count my life dear to myself, so that I may finish my race with joy, and the ministry which I received from the Lord Jesus, to testify to the gospel of the grace of God. (NKJV)
Paul was bound in spirit and being pulled forward by his calling. It didn’t matter if the Lord was revealing difficulties ahead. Paul knew it was his destiny to go to Jerusalem, so he went there regardless.
I doubt many of us would have the same confidence if the Holy Spirit warned us of troubles ahead. I know if the Lord had told me my business venture were going to be difficult, I’d probably thank Him for the heads-up and turn back in the other direction.
But Paul was so focused on his calling that he remained unmoved—to the point that he experienced joy. Paul built a solid foundation that could carry the weight of God’s blessing and keep him moving forward in any season.
Thankfully, like Paul, we don’t need to be bound by trials or fear. We can be pulled toward our destiny by something greater, and make decisions that feed perfectly into our dreams.
