Hello Financial Healers,
Los Angeles may have soul-crushing traffic, soaring poverty, and high crime, but at least it has clean beaches, right?
Well… according to this report, the beaches aren’t safe either:
“[The] prolonged rainy season and the excessive amount of water pollution have led to more beaches in L.A. County closing for longer periods this year...”
Urban runoff is a serious problem. But now an even dirtier source is polluting the ocean: homeless RV encampments.
Insider writes: “According to the… Los Angeles Homeless Services Authority (LAHSA), there are more than 23,000 homeless people living in sheltered premises in the city, with nearly 7,000 living in RVs.”
That’s over 30,000 people… a population higher than in some cities.

While certain pundits claim van-sheltering the homeless is humane, others identify its negative impacts on the environment.
Zerohedge reports: “Nine thousand gallons [of sewage] a month are going into the… storm drain system... The storm drain carries it straight to Santa Monica Bay…”
Before you head to the beach, check out the stats via LA Public Health. It’s better to be safe, than sick.
In search of clean water,
