Do you feel like you have a voice before the Lord? Or have years of financial hardship led you to believe your voice doesn’t matter to Him?
Do you know that God hears you when you pray—when you ask for His wisdom with money, for Him to deliver you, for Him to show you how to better your circumstances?
Or has your faith dried up like a houseplant without water?
If you are in that boat today, may this article serve as a brief reminder of what is true.
The truth is that your voice before the Lord is a mighty weapon.
Most of us have a mental understanding that our voice matters to our heavenly Father. We “get” that He is listening to our prayers and—somewhere out there—might have help for us.
But the heart is the one that doesn’t always recognize, “I am valuable to God. My situation is important to Him. He cares. He has help for me.” The heart can be somewhat reserved or cool toward the idea of loving help from Father God.
As your heart starts to think like a Prosperous Soul, your perception changes.
“When I call out to God and ask for the things I need, He actually listens to me. He listens—and then He acts.”
“God is attentive to me and my needs.”
“God is on my side.”
“I really am His child, and He really is my Father.”
Your voice becomes a mighty weapon when you, a Prosperous Soul, ask the Lord for what you need. For one reason or another, many believers don’t ask. As James 4:2 says, “You don’t have because you don’t ask.”
As Prosperous Souls, we ask—because we know the value our Father places on us.
Whatever your financial need today, here is a prayer:
Father, today I use the weapon of my voice by faith and by the privilege of Jesus, who reconciled me to You. Would You bring Your provision into my hands for every need I am facing today? Would You protect me where I need protection? Would you watch over what belongs to me? And would You confirm and reinforce my identity in Christ, so I really know who I am even in these crazy, unusual times.
May the spirits of fear and poverty be unable to “sift” me, as Jesus talked about with Peter. Instead, may I hear Your voice and learn how to “sift” the world in this season. I ask that I would be able to work with You as You put Your brightness on display for everyone to see. I pray this in Jesus’ name. Amen.
Your voice matters, and it is an incredible weapon in your hands. Don’t be afraid to use it—to go to the Lord and ask Him for what You need.
With your powerful voice, what are you asking God for today?
